Several excel files did not migrate over to my new macbook air from Time Machine backup. They do not show up in a search of my new computer. I still see them on my old computer. The files were created on January 2, 2026, January 3, 2026, and January 6, 2026.

If the 2 Macs are on the same wifi/network just copy the files from one Mac to the other. See Mac Help or contact Apple Support if you need assistance with sharing files & folders

    .File sharing

You can share files with other users and Mac computers. See Use AirDrop to send items to nearby Apple devices, Set up file sharing, or Use iCloud to share and collaborate on files and folders.

If several Excel files did not migrate to your new MacBook Air from a Time Machine backup, there are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

    1. Check Time Machine Backup: Ensure that the Time Machine backup contains the Excel files. You can do this by accessing the Time Machine interface on your old Mac and navigating to the dates when the files were created (January 2, 2026, January 3, 2026, and January 6, 2026).
    2. Search for Files: Use Finder on your new MacBook Air to search for the files. Make sure to check different locations, including the Documents folder and any other folders where the files might have been saved.
    3. Restore from Time Machine: If you find the files in Time Machine, you can restore them directly to your new MacBook Air. Open Time Machine, navigate to the files, and click the "Restore" button.
    4. File Types: Ensure that the files are not of a type that Migration Manager does not support. Unsupported files can lead to migration issues. However, if the files are visible in Time Machine, they should be recoverable.
    5. Contact Support: If the files are still missing after these steps, consider reaching out to Apple Support or Microsoft Support for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to locate and recover your missing Excel files from the Time Machine backup.
