Outlook Previewer does not display files, photos etc - I am using the OWA Outlook and when I have emails with attachments - such as receipts from shopping or passport picture service.

I have tired storing onto OneDrive and viewing it from there and it works but it is very inconvenient of doing this way as I do not know what files I have saves or looking for.

    Hi Rajinder Singh,

Good day. I'm Jhun an independent advisor. In regards with your Outlook preview that does not display, this usually points to a browser, cache, or security setting issue rather than a problem with the files itself.

Try these solutions and see what will fix the problem.

    A. Try a different browser.

    1. Open your email in: Microsoft Edge Google Chrome Firefox
    2. If previews work in another browser, the issue is browser-related.

    B. Clear browser cache & cookies. Corrupted cache files often break OWA previews.

    1. In Chrome / Edge, Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete
    2. Select: Cookies Cached images and files
    3. Time range: All time
    4. Clear data.
    5. Restart browser.

    C. Disable browser extensions. Ad blockers, privacy tools, and security extensions can block Outlook’s preview scripts.

    1. Open browser extensions page.
    2. Disable all extensions temporarily.
    3. Restart browser.
    4. Test attachment preview.
    5. If it works, re-enable extensions one by one to find the culprit.

    D. Disable enhanced tracking / strict privacy.

    1. If you're using: Strict privacy mode. Third-party cookie blocking. Corporate security software.
    2. Temporarily relax those settings and test again.

    E. Check Outlook attachment settings.

    1. In Outlook Web, Click gear Settings.
    2. Go to Mail.
    3. Open Attachments.
    4. Make sure preview options are enabled.

    F. Try Outlook in incognito / private mode. This bypasses extensions and cached data. If it works there, the issue is definitely browser-related.

    G. Check if it’s a work/school account policy. If this is a company or school account, your admin may have disabled attachment previews for security reasons. You can test by:

    Logging in from another device.
Logging in from a different network (home vs office).

    G. If nothing works, reset browser.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Jhun
