Files are on ONe Drive - I am having issues with some folders utilizing "always available on this device". In addition, it is a very slow process opening and saving files with "always available on this device" and "available on this device" . How can I easily resolve the problem... what is the best way to turn off and then turn back on. What is your recommendation?

After you work on a file on your computer, you can right-click it and select "Always available" or select "Free up space".

    Hello,

If the issue persists after using the AI method, please press Win + R and enter:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\OneDrive.exe /reset

to reset OneDrive and see if this resolves the problem.

If the problem still exists, it may be due to a network issue. Try switching to a more stable connection (for example, testing with a mobile hotspot).

To resolve issues with OneDrive folders utilizing "Always available on this device," you can try the following steps:

    1. Turn Off Files On-Demand: If you are using Files On-Demand, it might be causing slow performance. You can disable it by right-clicking the OneDrive cloud icon in the system tray, selecting Settings, navigating to the Settings tab, and unchecking the option for Save space and download files as you use them.
    2. Remove and Re-add Folders: To refresh the sync status, you can remove the folders from being always available and then re-add them. Right-click the folder in OneDrive, select Free up space to remove it from your device, and then right-click again and select Always keep on this device to re-add it.
    3. Update OneDrive: Ensure that you have the latest version of OneDrive. You can check for updates by going to the OneDrive settings and looking for any available updates.
    4. Check for Conflicts: Sometimes, conflicts can cause slow performance. Right-click the OneDrive icon and select View sync problems to see if there are any issues that need to be resolved.
    5. Restart OneDrive: Sometimes, simply restarting the OneDrive application can resolve performance issues. Right-click the OneDrive icon and select Close OneDrive, then reopen it from the Start menu.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may consider resetting OneDrive or checking your internet connection for speed issues.
