Upon opening any M365 app, I continue to receive the license error message "This account doesn't have a Microsoft 365 license" even though the account DOES have a valid M365 Bus Std license.

NB: I have already:

  1. Verified license
  2. Signed out/in (Both Office and Windows)
  3. Removed cached credentials
  4. Reinstalled Office
  5. Full Repair of W11

    In spite of having already:

    1. Verified license
    2. Signed out/in (Both Office and Windows)
    3. Removed cached credentials
    4. Reinstalled Office
    5. Full Repair of W11

Using Credential Manager, I again manually deleted any and every credential related to Microsoft and again uninstalled all M 365/Office related apps.

Shutdown, sign in, new app download and install.

    Miraculously, no more license error

    Hello,

In your apps, like Word, Excel, etc, go to Files > Accounts > Update license, then sign in again with the correct account. See if that helps.

If you are receiving the error message "This account doesn't have a Microsoft 365 license" despite having a valid Microsoft 365 Business Standard license, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check License Assignment: Ensure that the license is correctly assigned to your account. You can do this by checking in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under the Users > Active users section. Select your user account and verify that the license is assigned.
    2. Verify Account Type: Make sure you are signed in with the correct account type. If you are using a Work or School account, confirm that it is the account associated with the license.
    3. Run the Microsoft 365 Activation Troubleshooter: This tool can help resolve activation issues. Make sure you are using the same Windows device on which Microsoft 365 is installed.
    4. Reset Microsoft 365 Activation State: You may need to reset the activation state for Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise if applicable.
    5. Contact Your Administrator: If you are still facing issues, it may be necessary to contact your Microsoft 365 administrator to ensure that everything is set up correctly on their end.

These steps should help you resolve the licensing issue you are experiencing with Microsoft 365 apps.
