Getting Teams Meetings Added to Your Events When Using Apple iOS Calendar App – Missing Generated Meeting Link

Hello,

We have enabled the organization-wide setting to automatically generate a Teams meeting link for all newly created meetings (OnlineMeetingsByDefaultEnabled set to true).

This works correctly when creating meetings in Outlook. However, when I create a new event using the native Apple iOS Calendar app on my iPhone (with my Microsoft 365 account connected), the Teams meeting link is not generated automatically.

Could you please advise what needs to be configured so that a Teams meeting link is automatically added when creating events directly from the Apple iOS Calendar app?

Is there any additional integration, policy, or configuration required to make this work outside of Outlook?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards, [Moderator note: personal info removed]

    Dear @Dział IT,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that you're experiencing an issue with Teams meeting links not being generated in the Apple iOS Calendar. As a forum moderator, I wish I could access your account or investigate the backend directly, but our role is limited to providing general guidance that users can apply.

From my research, it appears the issue is related to the OnlineMeetingsByDefaultEnabled setting, which is specific to Microsoft’s own applications (Outlook, Teams). This setting works on the client-side, but since Apple iOS Calendar communicates using the Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) protocol, it doesn’t trigger the "Online Meeting" logic built into Outlook and Teams. Unfortunately, there is no organization-wide policy or setting in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to automatically generate Teams links for the iOS Calendar.

For problems of this nature, I recommend that the Global Admin in your organization create a service request with Microsoft Support. A technical support engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis. Ask The Global Admin in your organization to create a service request with Microsoft support to get advanced technical assistance and diagnostics. For detailed instructions on how to get support, please refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin. If you don't know who your IT administrator is, please refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

For additional assistance, use this link to find the appropriate contact number from your region: Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

I truly hope your issue is resolved swiftly. Please know that, even though I can't directly intervene, directing you to the correct specialized support is the most effective help I can provide from my position. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Let me know if you need anything else. I wish you all the best.
