Looks like I am having the same issue as many others: I can't access my Postgre SQL to upgrade to the mandatory Flexible, and can't submit a ticket even after being forced to upgrade the support plan.

You are making me upgrade to the flexible SQL server, and charging me if I don't upgrade, but can't access it through the portal to upgrade, or shut if off. And I can't submit a ticket to have you refresh from your end, which seems to be the issue. I need help getting this resolved.

    Hello Joe Stephenson,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

you want the PostgreSQL Single Server to be migrated to Flexible Server, but you can’t see it in the Azure portal and you’re still being charged.

This is possible, but it cannot be done by you from the portal anymore. It requires Microsoft to trigger or complete the migration from the backend.

Microsoft retired Single Server on March 28, 2025, and disabled servers that were not migrated in time. They remain in a limited state for potential migration, but billing for storage and backups may still continue during this time.

Below is the correct and supported path.

You may want to create a support ticket under Billing → Subscription management → Unexpected charges.

Let us know if you have further questions?
