As of September 30, 2024, Microsoft officially retired the standalone Flip (formerly Flipgrid) website and apps. All data that was not downloaded by that deadline has been permanently deleted from Microsoft's servers.

However, since you need these for your current school year, here are three places you might still find them:

    1. Check your school's "LMS" (Canvas, Blackboard, or Google Classroom)

If you recorded these videos as part of an assignment in a learning management system, the videos are often hosted via an integration.

Check the specific assignment: Sometimes the video link still points to a cached version, or the teacher/administrator has a different backup of student submissions.

Check the "Submission History": In some cases, a copy of the video file itself was uploaded to the LMS rather than just a link to Flipgrid.

    1. Search your Cloud Storage (OneDrive or Google Drive)

Many school accounts were set up to automatically sync Flipgrid recordings to a specific folder.

Search your OneDrive or Google Drive for a folder named "Flip", "Flipgrid", or "My Flipgrid Videos".

Search for file types like .mp4 or .mov created around the dates you know you made the videos.

    1. Contact your School IT Department

While the general consumer site is gone, school administrators sometimes have access to "Tenant Backups" or eDiscovery tools if the school used a heavy Microsoft 365 integration.

Ask your IT admin if they can check the Microsoft Purview or Archive settings for any legacy "Flip" data. While it's a long shot after the September 2024 cutoff, they are the only ones with the permissions to check the deep backend.

Since Flipgrid is now integrated directly into Microsoft Teams for Education, any new videos you create this year will be stored within your Team's files or your personal OneDrive, making them much easier to find in the future.

    Hello,

Sign in at https://info.flip.com with the same account you used before, go to “My Videos” or your past grids, and download what is available. If videos were deleted or the grid closed, Microsoft cannot recover them.
