Hi, I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.
It can be a mounted CD image (.iso file), right click it and select "Eject", if the CD drive disappears after that, it is ok.

It happens when you try to open a .iso file.

If a CD drive is showing in File Explorer but there is no physical CD drive connected to the PC, it could be due to a few reasons:

    1. Virtual Drives: Sometimes, software that creates virtual drives can cause a drive letter to appear even when no physical drive is present.
    2. Remnants from Previous Hardware: If the CD drive was previously connected and not properly removed or if the system has not updated its hardware configuration, it may still show up.
    3. Driver Issues: There might be a problem with the drivers that manage the CD drive, causing the system to incorrectly report its status.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

    • Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and see if the CD drive is listed there. If it is, you can try uninstalling it and then scanning for hardware changes to refresh the list.
    • Remove Virtual Drives: If you have any software that creates virtual drives (like disk imaging software), consider disabling or uninstalling it.
    • Update Drivers: Ensure that your system's drivers are up to date, particularly for storage devices.

These steps should help resolve the issue of a phantom CD drive appearing in File Explorer.
