Microsoft usually doesn't randomly tell you to “change to a new email account” without context.

Most emails saying “you must change your email” are scams unless they meet very specific conditions.

The email comes from @microsoft.com, It is likely LEGITIMATE.

It appears in your Microsoft Account → Security → Recent activity

    It refers to:

    • A security breach
    • Account recovery
    • Inactive account warning
    • Mailbox storage limit
    • It does NOT ask you to click strange links or give passwords

It is VERY LIKELY A SCAM ,If It says:

    • “You must change to a new email”
    • “Your email will be deleted today”
    • “Confirm your account immediately”

Microsoft never asks for passwords via email.

    You hould do (SAFE method)

    1. DO NOT click anything in the email
    2. Check directly in Microsoft (safe)

Open a browser, go manually to:

    https://account.microsoft.com

    Sign in and check:

    Security -> Notifications - >Recent activity

If Microsoft really wants you to change something, it will be shown there.

    1. Check the sender address carefully

    Real examples:

    ******@account.microsoft.com

    no-reply@microsoft.com

    Fake examples:

    ******@m1crosoft.net

    ******@outlook-help.com

    ******@verify-email.info

Microsoft never forces email changes via email links

All real changes are done after logging into your account directly
