How to get rid of these subject dividers?

These subject dividers are driving me nuts, because I'm trying to sort through and delete subjects with very slightly different subject titles (ei. "posted chapter 4" and "posted chapter 5") but because the subjects have differences, I keep getting these black bars sorting them, and it's very very frustrating. How do I get rid of them?

It might also be because you are sorting by Subject. In New Outlook there is no way to disable "Group by Subject" when you Sort by Subject.

You can Vote for and Comment on this Feature Request if you want the ability to Sort without auto Grouping.

You either need to group by a different field or turn off grouping.

View tab > View settings > Mail > Layout - Message organization is 4th group from the top
