Setting up future meetings with participants using Teams calendar or Outlook integration
Hi @Dyer, Rachael,
Thank you for posting your question to Microsoft Q&A Forum.
At the moment, Microsoft Teams does not support copying or duplicating a meeting while automatically generating a new, unique join link.
- A Teams meeting link is created at the time the meeting itself is created.
- If you duplicate, copy, or reuse an existing meeting (for example by duplicating a calendar event or copying the meeting body), the same Teams meeting link is reused.
- There is no “template” or “clone meeting with new link” feature in Teams or Outlook today.
Because the meetings run in parallel, have different participant groups, and require unique join links, each meeting must be created as a separate meeting
The only supported way to get identical settings with unique Teams links is how the Q&A Assist suggested:
- Open Teams or Outlook calendar
- Select New meeting
- Manually copy the time, recurrence, meeting options, and description from your “master” meeting
- Change the meeting title (for example, Group 1, Group 2, etc.)
- Save the meeting > Teams automatically generates a new, unique join link
- Repeat for each group
Although this approach is manual, it ensures unique meeting links, proper separation of meeting chats, and independent recordings and attendance.
However, your feedback is very valuable and can help influence future updates. If this change affects your workflow, I recommend submitting a suggestion through the Microsoft Teams Community feedback portal so that the product team can take your input into consideration.
