A colleague shared several files with me through One Drive. When I click on the link, and I start trying to log into Microsoft with the email address to which the link was sent, I get the below error. I have tried Chrome and Firebox and it's the same. I have cleared all cookies, etc. How do I access these files?

    Hi @Christina M. Coleman,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you so much for providing such detailed information and for taking the time to test across multiple browsers and clear your cache. Your thorough approach and proactive troubleshooting are truly impressive and make it much easier to understand the situation and assist you effectively. I greatly appreciate the effort and care you’ve put into this.

The error code MSPPError -2147207876 is typically related to authentication or tenant access configuration rather than a browser issue. Based on the behavior you described, the most common causes are outlined below:

    1. Account mismatch during sign-in
The OneDrive link must be accessed using the exact email address to which it was originally shared. If a different Microsoft account is signed in, or if multiple accounts are cached in the browser, the authentication token may fail. I recommend opening the link in an InPrivate or Incognito window and selecting “Use another account,” then manually entering the exact email address that received the invitation.
    2. Guest access not configured
If the sender is from a different organization, your account may need to be added as a Guest user in their Microsoft 365 tenant. The sender can confirm this by checking the file’s “Manage access” settings and verifying that your email appears under “Specific people.”
    3. Sharing link restrictions
The file may have been shared internally only. If it was restricted to users within the sender’s organization, external access would be blocked. In this case, the sender would need to re-share the file and select “Specific people,” ensuring your email address is entered directly.
    4. Account type considerations
Please also confirm whether the email address is a work or school Microsoft 365 account, a personal Microsoft account, or an alias/shared mailbox. Some mailbox types cannot authenticate directly if they do not have a corresponding Microsoft identity.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow the steps above and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can continue working together to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out so I can continue to support you. If you found the response useful, please consider marking it as accepted, as this may help other community members who are looking for similar guidance.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
