So, i got my laptop a year or two ago and ive recently started using it again. I got it to do school on since I'm homeschooled and live with my grandparents, but I also specially got it for after school games as well. I believe we got it at best buy, and the employee said it was perfect for games. It worked for the few years i had it, no problems. But last month i was playing Roblox (of course) and it started lagging really hard and crashed. I restarted my laptop many times and even tried other games to make sure it wasn't Roblox itself. I googled ideas and i even did factory resets and delete files that could be messing up but it still doesn't work. My laptop works fine for everything else but video games. I have no clue why it randomly started doing this, i was using for games the day before it crashed. Any ideas?

I don't even know if I'm writing this in the right place lol. Please and thank you.

It sounds like your laptop may be experiencing performance issues specifically related to gaming. Here are a few potential reasons and solutions you might consider:

    1. Overheating: Laptops can throttle performance when they overheat. Ensure that your laptop's vents are not blocked and that it is clean from dust. You might also want to use a cooling pad.
    2. Driver Issues: Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can lead to poor gaming performance. Make sure to update your graphics drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer's website.
    3. Background Processes: Sometimes, background applications can consume resources that are needed for gaming. Check your Task Manager to see if there are any unnecessary applications running that you can close.
    4. Game Settings: Lowering the graphics settings in the games you are trying to play can help improve performance, especially if your laptop's hardware is not high-end.
    5. Hardware Limitations: If your laptop's hardware is not powerful enough for the games you are trying to play, it may struggle. Check the minimum and recommended system requirements for the games.
    6. Malware or Viruses: Ensure that your laptop is free from malware, as this can significantly affect performance. Running a full system scan with a reliable antivirus program could help.
    7. Windows Updates: Sometimes, pending Windows updates can cause performance issues. Make sure your operating system is up to date.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these suggestions, it may be worth consulting with a professional technician to diagnose any potential hardware problems.
