    Dear Susan Dominica

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that the Pin feature is missing for one of your email accounts but still appears for another, and that this began recently. I’m happy to help. Please follow these steps:

If the missing pin is in Outlook.com (web)

    • Open the mailbox in Outlook.com.
    • Set the folder view to Sort by Date (to show pinned messages).
    • Hover the message to check whether the Pin option appears and pin the message.
    • User's image

If you are working in classic Outlook for Windows and need an equivalent “keep this visible” workflow

    • Use Follow Up flags/reminders to keep important emails tracked as action items.
    • Add a follow-up flag to the message (flag icon > Follow Up).
    • Optional: add a reminder (Follow Up > Add Reminder) so you receive an alert.  This helps you avoid losing track of the email even when a Pin option isn’t available in that account’s view.

The issue with the PIN feature being missing for one of your email accounts could be related to the policies set on your device or account. If you are using Windows 10 and have policies enabled that affect the ability to set a convenience PIN, this could be the reason. Specifically, if both the Use Convenience PIN and Use Windows Hello for Business policies are enabled, it may prevent the creation of a convenience PIN unless your device is joined to Microsoft Entra ID.

To restore the PIN feature, ensure that the following conditions are met:

    1. The Use Windows Hello for Business policy is not enabled.
    2. The Turn on convenience PIN sign-in policy is enabled.

You may need to check your group policy settings or consult with your IT administrator if you are in a managed environment.
