I have successfully verified my academic status using my university email address. However, after verification, the system states that I am 'Not Eligible' for the Azure for Students $100 credits. Since this is a valid .edu.pk institutional account that has not been used for Azure credits before, I request you to manually review my account and enable the student benefits.

    Hey there, Bahawal Ali

Microsoft uses an online system to detect if a student is eligible for the Azure Student subscription. If the system detects you are not eligible, it will not apply the subscription to your account and will provide you with an error message telling you that you are not eligible. Azure support can not manually apply this subscription and credits on your account.

The requirements for the Azure Student subscription are:

    • You have an email address that has been provided by your university,
    • You are enrolled on a degree granting course as a full time student,
    • The course you are studying is a two to four year degree course,
    • The course is not a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).

You can view all of the requirements in this article here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/education-hub/azure-dev-tools-teaching/program-faq#azure-for-students

In your case, I can see you have a university email address, as you have provided the end of the domain for it which is .edu.pk

So this could be another requirement behind the scenes where the university must be registered on Microsoft's database of qualified educational institutions. Microsoft adds schools, collages and universities to that database when they register and qualify for a Microsoft education licence for their products such as Microsoft 365.

Please can you speak to your IT department about this and see if they have an educational licence for Microsoft products. They will be able to tell you if they do or not. It may also be worth asking if other students have been able to sign up for the Azure Student subscription too.

If they do not have an educational licence, please give them this article which tells them how to get this licence: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/commerce/subscriptions/verify-academic-eligibility?view=o365-worldwide

The IT team would need to do this themselves.

If they do, then there is likely another reason which I will go into later.

    Thanks,
    Nathan
