In most websites,Microsoft replied that they don't wan't Window 11 users use a rival free antivirus ,as they strongly recommend the M.D.A. instead?.I have been having much better luck with an installed rival free antivirus in 2026,but an installed rival free antivirus does not allow a dangerous download to go through as it's blocked as shown on the screen. While using the M.D.A. on it's own, i noticed all dangerous downloads were going through and all dangerous computer viruses had won once installed, from Malware to Trojans?.My M.D.A is always fully updated and sadly it has lost each time a dangerous download went through. No other installed free antivirus has ever lost when in the same scenario/s?.weirdly enough an over a 10 year old free antivirus like Baidu showed a 100% success rate in dealing with an Eicar, just to start with?.I am though exploring another free antivirus that doesn't allow a dangerous download through...?

Microsoft does allow Windows 11 users to use rival free antivirus software alongside Microsoft Defender Antivirus (M.D.A.). However, while you can run non-Microsoft antivirus solutions, Microsoft recommends using Microsoft Defender Antivirus in conjunction with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for better protection. This combination is designed to provide enhanced security features and coordinated protection across products and services.

It's important to note that while some users may have better experiences with rival antivirus solutions, Microsoft Defender Antivirus is built into Windows and is intended to offer comprehensive protection. If you find that another antivirus solution is more effective for your needs, you are free to use it, but ensure that it does not conflict with Microsoft Defender Antivirus if you choose to run both.
