Booting from SSD gives a "non-bootable disk or disk error" at startup.

It started this morning (Feb 13, 2026). When I started my PC I get an error message that the 2 TB SSD is not bootable. I have a USB and CD for recovery, but they act like the SSD does not exist (maybe because they were made when I had a 3TB HDD before). Somehow I was able to get the system to boot with the recovery CD in my Blu-ray drive and not pressing any keys when prompted.

I've heard of a Windows 11 update causing similar problems, but I'm using 10. Have there been any reports of Windows 10 updates causing SSD issues? Maybe I need to change a BIOS setting (Have SATA emulate IDE instead of ACHI)?

    Hello,

To check if your computer has truly recognized the hard drive, please enter the BIOS and see if the hard drive is visible.

If the BIOS does not recognize the SSD, please shut down the computer, reseat the hard drive (including any power cables), and then try a different SATA interface to see if the hard drive is recognized.
