    Hi CID Property Maintenance SA

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum. I know how frustrating it is when Outlook gets stuck on the loading envelope and never fully opens.

To avoid repeating the Q&A Assist's response under your post, could you tell me if you’ve tried those steps yet, and what happens when you try?

Also, just to confirm, is new Outlook stuck opening a specific message, or does it happen with any email you try to open?

In addition, please try the following steps:

    1. Check Outlook on the web

    • Sign in to your mailbox via Outlook on the web (browser) and try opening the same message there.
    • If it opens on the web, your mailbox is OK and the issue is isolated to the new Outlook app.

    2. Force-close new Outlook and reopen it

    • Right‑click Start > Task Manager
    • Select Microsoft Outlook > End task
    • Reopen new Outlook normally and try signing in again

    3. Repair the new Outlook app

    • From Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps
    • Find new Outlook > … (More options) > Advanced options
    • Scroll down and select Repair

    4. If it still won't open, uninstall and reinstall new Outlook

    • From Start, look for new Outlook for Windows > expand options > Uninstall
    • Reinstall by opening classic Outlook and using the Try the new Outlook toggle to download it again. User's image

Please feel free to let me know how it goes after trying these steps. Thank you for your precious time and understanding.

If your Outlook email is stuck on the envelope trying to open, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Check if Outlook is in use by another process: Look at the status bar at the bottom of the screen. If Outlook is busy, wait for the current task to finish before trying to perform other actions.
    2. Prevent Outlook from downloading external content: Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Automatic Download. Select the options to not download pictures or other content automatically in HTML emails and to warn you before downloading content when editing, forwarding, or replying to emails.
    3. Start Outlook without add-ins: Sometimes, add-ins can interfere with Outlook. To start Outlook without add-ins:
      • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
      • Type Outlook.exe /safe and press OK.
      • If this resolves the issue, check your add-ins by going to File > Options > Add-Ins. Select COM Add-ins and clear the checkboxes to disable them. Restart Outlook and re-enable them one at a time to identify the problematic add-in.
    4. Repair Microsoft 365 programs: If the issue persists, you might need to repair your Microsoft 365 installation.
    5. Check for large mailboxes: If your mailbox is too large, it can cause performance issues. Consider archiving old emails or cleaning up your mailbox.
    6. Reset the New Outlook: If you are using the New Outlook, you can reset it by running the command olk.exe --clearLocalState to clear the local state and then restart Outlook.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consider reinstalling Outlook or checking for updates to ensure you have the latest version.
