I was working on a powerpoint file. Suddenly the file turned off, and the app disappeared from the laptop. Reinstalling the app is taking forever. Other apps of MS365 are working fine. Please advise.

Thanks

    Hello,

Close all Office programs, open Control Panel, click Programs and Features, find Microsoft 365,

    right-click → Change, select Repair,

This repair will automatically fix program errors or missing components.

If PowerPoint is not opening and the application has disappeared from your laptop, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check for Corrupted Preferences: Sometimes, PowerPoint preferences can become corrupted, which may prevent the application from starting. You can try resetting the preferences by removing the preference files.
    2. Background Programs: Ensure that no other programs running in the background are interfering with PowerPoint. You can try restarting your computer to clear any background processes.
    3. Reinstall PowerPoint: Since you mentioned that reinstalling the app is taking a long time, ensure that you are using a stable internet connection. You can also try uninstalling PowerPoint completely and then reinstalling it from your Microsoft account.
    4. Test with a New User Account: Create a new user account on your laptop and see if PowerPoint opens there. This can help determine if the issue is related to your user profile.
    5. Safe Mode: Try starting PowerPoint in Safe Mode to see if it opens. If it does, the issue may be related to add-ins or other programs running in the background.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consult Microsoft support for further assistance.
