Hi Azure Support, I am a student/developer learning .NET and Azure. I signed up for the Free Account to practice. I thought my resources would stop automatically when my credit expired, but I see I have been charged ₹1,716.81. I have already deleted my resources and cancelled the subscription. Since this was an accidental mistake during my learning process, could you please waive this one-time charge? I cannot afford to pay this amount.

    Hey there, Chandramohan Chandru

    In your post, you mentioned

I have already deleted my resources and cancelled the subscription

In order to create a support request in the Azure portal, you must have an active subscription to attach the support request to. This allows the billing team to see what subscription and resource you were referring to.

I think the best way, if no subscription is active on your Azure tenant, is to call Microsoft business support using their support number in your region from this article here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/customer-service-phone-numbers-c0389ade-5640-e588-8b0e-28de8afeb3f2

When phoning the support number, you will be greeted by an AI bot. Please speak clearly with the bot, so it can understand you. I would say something like 'azure billing team'

This will allow the bot to transfer you to the Azure billing team. If you do have a subscription still active on the Azure portal (You can check here: https://portal.azure.com/?feature.msaljs=true#view/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade/~/Overview), you can submit a support request through the Azure portal here: https://portal.azure.com/?feature.msaljs=true#view/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade/~/supportrequest

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan

To request a waiver for accidental charges on your Azure account, you should create a billing support request. Since you mentioned that you were charged after your credit expired and that this was unintentional, it's important to communicate this clearly in your support request. Here are the steps you can follow to submit your request:

    1. Navigate to the Azure portal.
    2. Enter "billing" in the search box and select the billing option.
    3. Choose your subscription from the dropdown menu.
    4. Click on "Create a support request" and fill out the necessary details, explaining your situation and requesting a one-time courtesy credit.

Make sure to provide all relevant information, including your subscription ID and any details about the accidental charges. Billing support is free, and they should be able to assist you with your request.
