Have attempted to create a new account in classic outlook 2024. It seems that you have to have the account to set the account up if that makes sense. When walking through the steps I am asked for the email account and password and when entered, receive a message that the account doesn't exist. Have tried manually, automatic setup, and even tried setting up a new profile and get the same results. The process continues to ask for the account email and password to set up and then tells you that the account doesn't exist or there are network problems. This shouldn't be this hard. Have tried to "repair" the installation with no help either quick or the more lengthy repair process. Also did a reinstall on the office program with no help.

In prior versions, I could set up the account manually by inputting the new email account and password then check the appropriate boxes for server information and click done and it was all set up.

Anyone have ideas or where I am going wrong?

Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

Who is the mail provider for the second account - that is, what follows the @ in the address? Have you tried logging onto the mailbox using a web browser? What happens if you try that? Can you log into the mailbox outside of Outlook?
