I have been getting email from someone named Fred Bentley at Fred <Mod remove PII> @gmail.com. I do

believe the comments and what he is saying to me are considered threatening. I started working with a person that was to help me start a rescues group where I live in MD, but I have never received any items and they keep asking for money and I have stopped sending it to them and now he is saying thing that I have asked him to stop. Is there any way to see if this person is in the USA and can you stop him from threatening me???

If you are receiving threatening emails, it is important to take the situation seriously. Here are some steps you can consider:

    1. Do Not Respond: Avoid engaging with the sender further, as this may escalate the situation.
    2. Document Everything: Keep records of all communications, including dates, times, and the content of the messages.
    3. Report the Threat: You can report the threatening emails to local law enforcement. They can provide guidance and take appropriate action.
    4. Email Provider: You can also report the email to the email provider (in this case, Gmail). They may take action against the account if it violates their policies.
    5. Block the Sender: Use your email settings to block the sender from contacting you again.
    6. Seek Support: If you feel unsafe, consider reaching out to friends, family, or a professional for support.

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to verify the location of an individual based solely on their email address. However, law enforcement may have the tools to investigate further if necessary.
