    Hi Steven Bell,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

In Microsoft Edge, tab groups are restored as part of your previous browsing session. This means they are saved automatically when Edge closes normally and starts again using the Open tabs from previous session setting.

    • Go to Settings > Start, home, and new tabs, and make sure Open tabs from previous session is selected.

You can also restore the last session manually after reopening Edge by pressing Ctrl + Shift + T or opening History > Recently closed to restore the last window.

To prevent background overwrite, you can go to Settings > System and performance then turn off Continue running background apps when Microsoft Edge is closed so Edge can close and save the session cleanly.

For your information, here are the steps to reset Edge to default settings:

    • Open Microsoft Edge
    • Select Settings and more (⋯) > Settings
    • Select Reset settings
    • Choose Restore settings to their default values
    • Select Reset

To save your tabs and restore them in Microsoft Edge, you can configure the browser to open the last open tabs from your previous session. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Click on Settings and more (three dots) in the upper right corner.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Go to Start, home, and new tab page.
    5. Choose the Open tabs from the previous session option.

This setting allows Edge to restore your tabs from the last session when you reopen the browser. If you are using tab groups, ensure that they are saved properly before closing the browser, as the restoration of tab groups may depend on how they were set up.

If you are still having issues with tab groups not appearing, consider checking for updates or resetting your Edge settings to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
