Hello,

I am having a problem accessing my account. When I try to use my email address, I receive the message: “That email belongs to a reserved domain. Please enter a different email address.”

I created this account in the past using this email address, but now I cannot log in or reset my password. I also cannot create a new account using the same email address.

Could you please help me recover my account or update the email address associated with it? I can provide any information needed to verify my identity.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Has there been a 2-year gap since you used it last?

    Or

Did you delete the email address from a Microsoft account as its alias?

From what you described, this email address was deleted, either manually or due to inactivity. Once an outlook.com or hotmail.com address is deleted, it is gone permanently. Microsoft doesn't recycle these email addresses, hence you will not be able to add it back to a Microsoft account, or to create it as a new account.

If you are receiving the message that your email belongs to a reserved domain, it typically means that the email address you are trying to use is no longer valid for account creation or access. This can happen if the email is associated with a domain that Microsoft no longer supports or if it has been marked as reserved for other reasons.

To recover your account or update the email address associated with it, you should try the following steps:

    1. Account Recovery: Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts to recover your account. You may need to provide information to verify your identity.
    2. Contact Support: If you cannot recover your account through the automated process, consider reaching out to Microsoft support directly. They can assist you in verifying your identity and possibly updating your email address.
    3. Use a Different Email: If you are unable to recover your account, you may need to create a new account using a different email address that is not associated with a reserved domain.

Make sure to provide any necessary information to support representatives to help with your request.
