In noticed in many websites that the M.D.A's detection rates has shown to be 100% in 2026,coming from findings by various experts, and at the same time my installed and fully updated M.D.A has shown to be nowhere near the 100% rate's,and it was really showing to be from 0% to 20% the most. How would you explain these two different outcomes?.Experts even clearly said that when the installed M.D.A. detected a virus/malware/trojan that it can professionally deal with it and remove them all within seconds, and i'm sure those experts would of been shocked to discover that my M.D.A. was allowing a virus/malware/trojan to go through from when it got downloaded,to installed ,to explored, without a care in the world, nor did the M.D.A care about the computer damages that happened afterwards.I even had weird kind of viruses/malwares/trojans in the process tab fully functional, undetected ,and untouched by the M.D.A.While using a rival free antivirus it immedaitely was detecting and listing what the M.D.A ignored?.I do have the free installed TrendMicro House Call as a second opinion virus scanner, and was shocked to notice even the Eicar files were deteted and listed and where it came from?,and it gave me the option to remove them all, and it was always successful with the removals. The Trend Micro House Calls has been spot on so far with it's detections, and ask myself why can't the M.D.A end up showing the same results?

The discrepancy you are experiencing between the reported detection rates of Microsoft Defender Antivirus (M.D.A) and your personal experience may stem from several factors. While some sources may claim that M.D.A has achieved a 100% detection rate in 2026, these figures often come from controlled testing environments that may not fully represent real-world scenarios. Independent tests typically evaluate a limited set of threats, and the vastness of the malware landscape means that actual performance can vary significantly in everyday use.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint incorporates various advanced technologies such as machine learning, behavioral analysis, and other protective measures that may not be reflected in simple detection rate statistics. Additionally, the effectiveness of any antivirus solution can be influenced by factors such as system configuration, the presence of other security software, and the specific types of threats encountered.

If you are consistently finding that M.D.A is not detecting threats that other antivirus solutions are catching, it may be worth reviewing your settings or considering additional layers of protection, such as enabling attack surface reduction features or ensuring that all components of the security suite are functioning correctly. It's also advisable to keep your software updated and to perform regular scans to ensure comprehensive protection.
