Why won’t my Minecraft Gift Card Redeem?

I’ve had this gift card for a while, and forgot about it. I tried redeeming it just now (no damage to the code or anything, freshly scratched off), and it’s saying “this code cannot be found”. I have no idea where it was bought from, as it was a gift from a while ago.
