If you're experiencing an issue where the "add account" button causes a black window to flash and then disappear, it could be due to several reasons, such as software conflicts or corrupted files. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Run Outlook in Safe Mode: Try starting Outlook in Safe Mode to see if the problem persists. You can do this by holding the Ctrl key while opening Outlook, or by typing outlook.exe /safe in the Run dialog (Win + R).
    2. Repair Office: Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, find Microsoft Office in the list, and select "Change". Then choose the repair option to fix any corrupted files.
    3. Update Windows and Office: Ensure that both your Windows operating system and Microsoft Office are up to date. Check for updates in Settings > Update & Security.
    4. Create a New Outlook Profile: Sometimes, creating a new profile can resolve issues. Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles, and then add a new profile and set it as the default.
    5. Check for Conflicting Software: Some third-party applications can interfere with Outlook. Try disabling any recently installed software to see if that resolves the issue.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking online forums or contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.
