    Hello Hester

Thank you for reaching out on the Microsoft Q&A forum regarding your issue with Outlook. This is a common issue that can often be resolved by verifying settings, trying manual configuration, or addressing network-related problem. First, ensure your email credentials work by logging into GoDaddy's webmail at email.godaddy.com. If you can access it there, the problem is likely with Outlook's configuration.

Try using Automatic Configuration: go to File > Add Account. Enter your full GoDaddy email address and click Connect. Enter your password when prompted. Outlook should auto-detect the settings.

Also check for network issues: Disable antivirus/firewall/VPN temporarily and test. Ensure stable internet.

Additionally: Is This Microsoft 365 Email? GoDaddy offers "Professional Email" (using secureserver.net) and separate "Microsoft 365" plans (using outlook.office365.com). If your webmail redirects to outlook.office.com, it's likely Microsoft 365. In that case:

    • Use automatic setup, outlook will configure it as an Exchange account (no manual IMAP needed).
    • If manual, try incoming server: outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL/TLS. But note: Microsoft discourages IMAP for 365 accounts in Outlook desktop; Exchange auto-setup is preferred and more reliable.
    • If prompted during setup, choose "Work or school account" (not personal).

    Hope this help.

If you're having trouble adding your Go Daddy professional email to Outlook and receiving a message that it can't connect with the incoming server, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Email Settings: Ensure that you are using the correct incoming server settings for your Go Daddy email account. This includes the server name, port number, and security settings (SSL/TLS).
    2. Verify Credentials: Double-check that the email address and password you are entering are correct. Sometimes, a simple typo can cause connection issues.
    3. Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Make sure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking Outlook from connecting to the email server. You may need to temporarily disable these to see if they are causing the issue.
    4. Update Outlook: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Outlook. Outdated software can sometimes lead to compatibility issues with email servers.
    5. Use Manual Setup: If the automatic setup fails, try manually configuring your email account in Outlook. You can do this by selecting the option to manually configure server settings during the account setup process.
    6. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and that you can access other websites and services.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to contact Go Daddy support for assistance, as they can provide specific guidance for their email services.
