    Hello Frans Mulder (buro3b),

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I realize that you've encountered a problem with recovery request. I truly understand your confusion. Let me assist you further.

    Here is my suggestion:

    1. Another admin resets your password

If there is at least one other Global Admin in your tenant, that admin must:

    • Sign in to Microsoft 365
    • Reset your admin password
    • Give you a temporary password

2, If You are the only admin

If you are the only admin and cannot sign in:

    • Self‑service password reset will not work
    • Microsoft support agents cannot manually reset your password
    • You must contact Microsoft Support for admin recovery

To contact Microsoft Support for admin recovery

    1. Go to Contact Microsoft Support: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/home/contact
    2. Choose: Microsoft 365 and Office > Subscription, account, billing > Other
    3. Select Contact Support and explain: You are locked out of the only admin account. You need tenant/admin account recovery

Microsoft will then start an identity and ownership verification process (this cannot be bypassed)

Please note that the chat support team only works during certain working hours. Therefore, if the last window indicates that you are unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

    Note:

    • If two‑step verification is enabled and you no longer have access to any recovery methods, Microsoft cannot recover the account for security reasons
    • Support cannot override MFA or security proofs
    • This is a security rule, not a support limitation

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,

If you're unable to log into your admin account, you can initiate a recovery process. Here are some steps you can follow:

    1. Confirm Account Details: Make sure you are using the correct email address associated with your admin account.
    2. Request Admin Access: If you are prompted to request admin access, follow the instructions provided.
    3. Submit a Support Request: If recovery prompts do not work, you can submit a support request:
      • Go to the Microsoft 365 support page.
      • Select I can't sign in or access my tenant.
      • You may be asked to verify your identity and ownership of the organization through various means such as official business documentation or domain ownership.
    4. Contact IT Partner: If a Microsoft partner created your tenant or manages it, reach out directly to their support team for assistance.

These steps should help you regain access to your admin account.
