That error usually means there’s an issue with your Windows account sync, not just the Microsoft Store.
To help narrow down the issue:
- Is this a personal PC or a school/work device? If personal, are you able to sign in at https://account.microsoft.com in a browser?
- Are you using a Microsoft account or a local account on this PC?
- If you go to Settings > Accounts > Your info, does it say “Microsoft account” or “Local account”?
- Do you see any message like “Verify” or “Fix now” there?
Also try this:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts
- Under “Accounts used by other apps,” remove your Microsoft account.
- Restart the PC.
- Add the account back again.
- After that, try signing in to the Microsoft Store again.
