    Hi Joel Rash,

Good day. I'm Jhun an independent advisor. In regards with your Excel copy-paste misfunctions, try to do these fixes and let's see what will fix the issue.

    A. Restart Excel properly.

    1. Close Excel.
    2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc > Open Task Manager.
    3. End all Microsoft Excel processes.
    4. Reopen Excel and test copy-paste.
    5. If still not working, continue to next option.

    B. Test in Safe Mode. To check if Add-ins are causing this.

    1. Press Windows + R
    2. Type: excel /safe
    3. Press Enter.
    4. Now try copy-paste. If it works, an add-in is causing the issue. If it still fails, continue to other fixes.
    5. To disable add-ins:
    6. File > Options > Add-ins.
    7. At bottom: Manage COM Add-ins > Go.
    8. Uncheck all > Restart Excel.

    C. Clear Windows clipboard

    1. Press Windows+V.
    2. Click clear all.
    3. Restart Excel.
    4. Or open Command Prompt and run: echo off | clip

    D. Check if it’s only one workbook.

    1. Test copy-paste in a new blank workbook, between two different Excel files
    2. Test copy from Notepad and paste to Excel.
    3. If it only fails in one file, the workbook may be corrupted.

    E. Check Office activation. If you've had Office issues before (registration & hardware change), verify activation:

    1. Open Excel.
    2. File > Account.
    3. Check if it says:
    4. Product Activated or Unlicensed Product.
    5. If unlicensed, copy-paste and editing features may break.

    F. Run Office quick repair.

    1. Control Panel.
    2. Programs and Features.
    3. Select Microsoft Office.
    4. Click Change.
    5. Choose Quick Repair. If it fails, try Online Repair.

    G. Check if another program is blocking clipboard.

    1. Common culprits: Remote desktop apps Clipboard managers Screenshot tools Antivirus
    2. Temporarily disable antivirus and test.

    I hope this works.

    Regards,
    Jhun

If you're unable to use the copy and paste function in Excel, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Check Paste Options: Ensure that the Show Paste Options button when content is pasted option is enabled. You can find this setting under File > Options > Advanced.
    2. Close Web Browsers: Sometimes, having web browsers open can interfere with the copy and paste functionality. Make sure to close all instances of web browsers and then try again.
    3. Safe Mode: Start Excel in Safe Mode to check if any add-ins are causing the issue. You can do this by holding the CTRL key and double-clicking the Excel icon. If copy and paste works in Safe Mode, then one of your add-ins may be causing the conflict.
    4. Multiple Instances of Excel: If you are running multiple instances of Excel, it may prevent the copy and paste functionality from working correctly. Try to open your workbooks in a single instance of Excel.
    5. Clipboard Issues: If the clipboard is cleared due to certain events or actions, it may disable the copy and paste options. Ensure that the clipboard is functioning properly.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, consider checking for any updates or reinstalling Excel as a last resort.
