Me and family created a family group and was wondering if we were able to share minecraft with each of us. Supposedly, one of our family members has gotten minecraft but I haven't. I talked to the family "leader" and she was unable to do anything. Any help would be appreciated

    Hello alon alon elijah,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

As of now, there is no official way to share a game on PC via Microsoft family group. Microsoft does offer game sharing; however it only works on Xbox via Home Console function.

There is a workaround for this that you could try. If you are using a child account of the family group, you can sign in with the parent account that own the game to the computer first and then sign in and play with the child account. But it will only work for 1 account and will probably have an issue if the adult account logged in somewhere.

    Thank you for your understanding.

To share Minecraft among family members in a family group, all members need to have their accounts set up correctly and linked to the same Microsoft account. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Family Group Settings: Ensure that all family members are correctly added to the family group. You can manage this through the Microsoft Family Safety app or the Microsoft account website.
    2. Game Ownership: Confirm that the family member who purchased Minecraft has shared their account with the family group. Only the account that purchased the game can share it, and it must be done through the same Microsoft account.
    3. Account Permissions: Make sure that the privacy and safety settings for each family member's account allow for sharing of games. This includes settings related to communication and multiplayer gaming.
    4. Cross-Platform Compatibility: If you are using different platforms (like Xbox and PC), ensure that the versions of Minecraft are compatible (e.g., Bedrock vs. Java).
    5. Reinstallation: If everything seems correct, try reinstalling Minecraft on your device to ensure that it recognizes the shared ownership.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft Support for further assistance regarding family sharing features.
