Microsoft account and feedback posts classification

Hello all,

I have a question regarding the Insider Program. I have joined the program with my main microsoft account which I use both on my main PC and a Dev Channel VM. In Feedback Hub my account is marked as Insider on both OSes. I am thus wondering if microsoft will differentiate between the two iterations regarding what build corresponds to what post and if all my feedback will appear on the app regardless of which instance I open (i.e. one submission is visible both on the main OS hub and the VM hub too).

Excuse me if this appears confusing.

Thank you for your time.

    Hi @Ilias Kslr

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum

Regarding your issue, Feedback Hub is linked to the Microsoft account used to sign in, not to a specific Windows installation. Because of that, the “My feedback” section shows feedback you’ve submitted or interacted with across all devices where you’re signed in with the same account. So seeing the same submission listed on both your main OS and your Dev Channel VM is expected behavior and doesn’t mean the feedback was duplicated.

Each feedback submission is still associated with the system context at the time it was submitted (such as the Windows build and environment). To avoid any confusion when using multiple setups, it helps to clearly mention in the feedback description:

    • The Insider channel,
    • The build number, and whether the issue occurred on a virtual machine or physical device.

Seeing the same submission in Feedback Hub on both systems is normal when using one Microsoft account, and Microsoft can differentiate reports by the build and diagnostic data included with each submission.

Hope this helps clarify what you’re seeing.

When you participate in the Windows Insider Program using your Microsoft account, your feedback submissions in the Feedback Hub are tied to that account. This means that feedback you submit from either your main PC or your Dev Channel VM should be visible across both instances, as they are associated with the same Microsoft account. However, the differentiation of feedback based on the specific build or instance may not be explicitly managed by Microsoft, so it's best to check the Feedback Hub on each device to see how your submissions are categorized.

In summary, while your feedback should appear on both OSes, the visibility and classification of feedback may depend on how Microsoft organizes it within the Feedback Hub.
