Hi,

This email address (******@hotmail.com) got hacked 1 week back and all the emails before 10-Feb-2026 are deleted from the inbox, sent items and customized folders.

These were important emails. Please help to recover all the deleted emails especially from the 'sent items' folder.

Regards,

Asjad

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

    About getting hacked:

Check if you still have access to your Microsoft account and make sure you're currently signed in https://account.microsoft.com/ If you’re locked out, let me know.

Just to be safe, I’d recommend to sign out everywhere. Visit: https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional Scroll down to Sign me out and select "Sign me out".

In Outlook.com, go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Rules and Mail > Forwarding to make sure no one has set up rules to forward or delete your messages.

And changing your password again and enabling two-step verification if you haven’t already. This will add an extra layer of security to prevent future unauthorized access.

    About missing emails:

Since your account was compromised, it’s possible the attacker deleted or moved your old emails.

Please check your Deleted Items folder and click “Recover items deleted from this folder” at the bottom, sometimes older messages can still be restored from there. Also check your Archive or Junk Email folders. If the emails don’t appear under “Recover items deleted from this folder,” it means they’ve been permanently removed from the mailbox and unfortunately can’t be recovered.

To prevent this from happening again, I recommend turning on two-step verification and reviewing your recent activity page to make sure your account is fully secure. To recover deleted emails from a hacked Hotmail account, you can follow these steps:

    1. Account Recovery: Start by trying to recover your account if you haven't done so already. Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts. Use any recovery options available, such as alternate email addresses or phone numbers that you may have set up.
    2. Check Deleted Items: If you regain access to your account, check the Deleted Items folder. Sometimes, deleted emails may still be in this folder if they haven't been permanently removed.
    3. Recoverable Items Folder: If the emails are not in the Deleted Items folder, they might be in the Recoverable Items folder. You can recover items from this folder if the deleted item retention period hasn't expired. For instructions on how to recover deleted items in Outlook, refer to the following:
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If you are unable to recover your emails through the above methods, it may be necessary to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. They can help you with account recovery and may have additional tools to verify your identity.
    5. Monitor for Further Issues: After regaining access, monitor your account for any suspicious activity and inform your contacts about the potential compromise to prevent them from falling victim to phishing attempts.

By following these steps, you should be able to recover your deleted emails, especially from the 'sent items' folder if they are still within the retention period.
