I have Bedrock on PC (Minecraft for Windows). Why does Java still say “Buy”?

I own “Minecraft for Windows” (Bedrock for PC) on the Microsoft account below (purchased from Microsoft Store in 2021). Bedrock is playable, but Java Edition still shows “Buy” in the Minecraft Launcher and on the Minecraft website/library.

Since June 7, 2022, PC owners of either “Minecraft for Windows” or “Minecraft: Java Edition” should receive the other edition as “Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC.” My account appears to be missing the Java entitlement.

Please verify and correct my entitlements by granting/restoring Minecraft: Java Edition for this same Microsoft account.

Here is the deal minecraft promised that you will get both versions if you purchased either one for PC

Here are some additional pictures for my store and Minecraft.

    Hi @Leyang Jay,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that Minecraft: Java Edition is prompting for a purchase despite your existing ownership of Minecraft for Windows.

Please follow these steps to refresh your account entitlements:

    1. Account Verification: Sign out of the Microsoft Store app, the Xbox app, and the Minecraft Launcher. Sign back into all three using the exact Microsoft account used to purchase Minecraft for Windows.
    2. Store Cache Reset: Press the Windows key + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter. A blank command prompt will appear; wait for it to close and for the Microsoft Store to reopen automatically.
    3. Manual Bundle Claim: Search for Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Edition for PC in the Microsoft Store. Since you own the Bedrock version, the bundle should show a Get or Install button instead of a price.

Regarding the account-level verification, as a moderator I provide technical guidance and general troubleshooting. I do not have the authority to access back-end account databases or manually modify game licenses on your behalf. If these steps do not resolve the issue, you need to contact a support agent who can perform an account-level check through these channels:

    • Microsoft Support: Visit the official Contact Us page to start a chat with a support agent.
    • Minecraft Help Center: Submit a ticket through the official Minecraft support request form.

Kindly update the outcome to let me further check if the problem persists.
