When I open Word and click on Blank Document, a Blank Document does not appear. The whole page is open.

From your description, I wonder if your view is set to Web Layout, which would give you a white screen across the entire Word window. If so, switch to Print Layout view.

I am not sure what you mean by "the whole page is open."

If you press Ctrl+N, then do you see a new, blank document created in Word?

Take a a screen shot and upload it here so that we can have a closer look.

If you're unable to open a blank document in Word and the whole page is open instead, it may be due to a software issue or a problem with Word itself. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Microsoft Office is up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve issues with the application.
    2. Repair Office: You can try repairing your Office installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select your Microsoft Office installation, and choose the Repair option. You can opt for the Online Repair for a more thorough fix.
    3. Start Word in Safe Mode: Try starting Word in Safe Mode by holding down the Ctrl key while launching Word. This can help determine if the issue is caused by add-ins or other settings.
    4. Reset Word Settings: If the problem persists, you might consider resetting Word settings to default. This can be done by renaming the Normal.dotm file, which is the default template Word uses.
    5. Check for Conflicting Software: Sometimes, other software can interfere with Word. Ensure that no other programs are causing conflicts.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to look into further troubleshooting specific to your system or consider reinstalling Microsoft Office altogether.
