Running updated Win 11. Windows will not recognize my iphone 15 or my SSD. it seems they were working before one recent windows security update. Have tried all or most 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line fixes.

    Hi,

Does this happen only with one USB device or with all of them?

When connecting, access the device manager and check if there are any unknown USB errors.

If possible, test the USB in question on another computer.

If it is a laptop or desktop, if possible, could you provide the laptop model or your desktop configuration?

    Thanks

If Windows 11 is not recognizing USB devices, there are several potential resolutions you can try:

    1. Update Windows: Ensure that your Windows 11 is up to date. Sometimes, updates include fixes for hardware recognition issues.
    2. Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and check if the USB device is listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers. If there is a yellow exclamation mark, it may indicate a driver issue.
    3. Try Different Ports: Connect the USB device to a different USB port on your computer to rule out a faulty port.
    4. Use a Different Device: Test the USB device on another computer to see if it is recognized there. This will help determine if the issue is with the device itself.
    5. Power Management Settings: Sometimes, power management settings can cause USB devices to not function properly. You can disable the power management feature for USB devices in Device Manager by right-clicking on the USB Root Hub, selecting Properties, and then unchecking the option that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power.
    6. Registry Fix: If you are comfortable with modifying the registry, you can create a registry entry that may help with USB recognition issues. However, be cautious as incorrect changes can cause system problems. Always back up the registry before making changes.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for any specific updates related to USB functionality for your version of Windows 11, as there may be known issues that have been addressed in recent updates.
