All of a sudden, Outlook Classic (CAN'T run any other type of Outlook because of "something"), I'm refused using it before I activate it.

My account that I've always used, gives an error about "shared computer scenarios". WHICH shared scenarios?? ONLY I use my computer!

I have done no changes to my MS account(s), and finding answers and signing in everywhere is a MESS!
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO!????

Is this like the error message you see:

    From: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/975774/microsoft-365-shared-computer-licensing-and-micros

    User's image

If so, please check (but do NOT change) the Registry value:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\Configuration SharedComputerLicensing

Or, please advise if you are not comfortable accessing the Windows Registry directly and I'll try and give you some alternatives.

Hi! Sorry to hear you’re running into this issue. Could you please share a screenshot of the exact error message you’re seeing? Also, when you say “activation,” do you mean activating Microsoft 365/Office? What happens when you try to activate? Does it fail immediately, or do you get a specific code/message? Lastly, do you currently have an active Microsoft 365 subscription?

It sounds like you're encountering issues with activating Outlook Classic due to a problem related to shared computer activation. This typically happens when your Microsoft account does not have the appropriate licensing for shared computer scenarios, which is often required in environments where multiple users access the same computer.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Your License: Ensure that your Microsoft account is assigned a license that supports Microsoft 365 Apps and shared computer activation. If you do not have the correct plan, you will not be able to activate Outlook in this scenario.
    2. Sign In Correctly: Make sure you are signing in with the correct Office 365 account that has the necessary license. If prompted, enter your credentials when opening Outlook.
    3. Internet Connectivity: Ensure that your computer is connected to the internet, as Office needs to communicate with the Office Licensing Service to validate your license.
    4. Review Error Messages: If you see specific error messages, such as "UNLICENSED PRODUCT" or "Sorry, we cannot verify the license currently installed for this product," these indicate issues with the licensing token. You may need to sign in again to refresh the token.
    5. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as they can provide more detailed help based on your account and setup.

Following these steps should help you activate Outlook Classic successfully.
