PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

I have had to create an email to be able to post this comment!!

In summary:

I was on holiday in New York last Monday and my email account got hacked.

Once I realised that it was hacked, I changed my password immediately and turned on 2FA.

After this the problem started:

  • My apple mail says "re-enter password"
  • Browser vertification fails and email and SMS codes wont arrive.
  • Ive hit "too many attempts" and have waited the 48hours.
  • The recovery form was rejected because I enabled the 2FA.

I do have the 25 digit recovery code but I dont know what to do with it. I understand it only a one time code (I think). I am not very tech savy when it comes to this so i need to get it right.

Can someone please help me. I need to gain access to my email account. I have an interview coming up and my prep work is in my email.

Thank you in advance.

Darren

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

There is a possibility that the same hacker repeatedly tried to sign in to your account, which triggered the system to detect multiple failed sign-in attempts or an unusual login pattern and resulted in the account being temporarily blocked.

It is also possible that the account lock keeps resetting. You will need to wait for the account lock to expire before you can successfully reset your password.

Since you mentioned that you have already waited 48 hours and the problem persists, you may need to wait a longer period, exactly up to a week, before performing another password reset, as stated on the official Microsoft website:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/troubleshooting-verification-code-issues-409090c4-92b5-42b9-8ae6-bcc97e62fc48#::text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did#::text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did

Important: Please make sure not to attempt to sign in or reset the password during this timeframe (one whole week), as this may reset the lock period.

Once you have regained access to your account, ensure that your verification methods are updated on account.microsoft.com > Security > Manage how I sign in

Lastly, I recommend following the guide from this thread to prevent unauthorized logins: https://learn.microsoft.com/answers/questions/4049625/someone-is-repeatedly-trying-to-access-or-hack-my?forum=windows-all&referrer=answers

Thank you for understanding. Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards

    Darhyl
