I have been trying to renew my subscription after it got canceled because of inactivity quite a few times. I keep trying to reach out and follow the steps of deleting my current profile and waiting 60 days. But anytime I try to join again after 60 days, my old profile is still there and I keep deleting to wait for the 60 days to be able to renew the subscription. The cycle never ends. Is there a real way of getting a new subscription? Thanks

    Hi Manuel Mane Penton

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum and sharing your experience.

You can start by clearing your browser cache and allow some time for the Developer Program dashboard to refresh, as updates may not appear immediately. Then sign in to the Microsoft 365 Developer Program Dashboard using an InPrivate or Incognito browser window. If the profile still appears, this indicates that it was not fully removed on the backend.

Please be aware that Microsoft has recently updated the Microsoft 365 Developer Program policy. Instant sandbox provisioning is currently restricted, and the program now focuses on users who have an active Visual Studio Professional or Visual Studio Enterprise subscription. If you do not have one of these subscriptions, you may not be eligible to provision a developer sandbox at this time, even if your profile is successfully deleted. These requirements are outlined in the Microsoft 365 Developer Program FAQ. In particular, I recommend reviewing the following two key topics:

    User's image

    User's image

If you do not have a qualifying Visual Studio subscription, deleting your profile may result in losing access to the program without the ability to sign up again.

If you do have an eligible Visual Studio subscription and the old profile still does not clear, the recommended next step is to contact Microsoft Developer Support through the following link: Services Hub. Please note that this portal (Services Hub) is a paid ticket and access is subject to certain conditions, which you can review here: Services Hub sign in FAQs | Microsoft Learn.

Please update this thread to let us know how it goes. Your experience will be valuable to others in the community who may face similar activation or provisioning issues.

Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.
