Tab for ("update completed", "what's new in Microsoft edge"), windows 11pro keeps showing every time I launch Edge. I tried repair and cleared history. I went through all 6 next steps to see what is new and the tab still comes up every time I launch Edge

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

This is by design after an Edge update.

    • Open Edge.
    • Open a new browser tab.
    • Then close the “What’s New in Edge” tab.

When you close Edge, does it appear again?

If the "What's New in Microsoft Edge" tab keeps appearing every time you launch Edge, it may be due to the settings related to startup pages. You can configure Microsoft Edge to open specific pages or resume your previous session. Here’s how you can check and modify these settings:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge and select Settings and more (the three dots in the upper right corner).
    2. Click on Settings.
    3. Navigate to Start, home, and new tab page.
    4. Here, you can choose to open specific pages or select Open tabs from the previous session. Make sure that the option you prefer is selected.

If you want to disable the automatic opening of the "What's New" tab, ensure that you do not have it set as a startup page. You may also want to clear your browsing data again, specifically focusing on cached images and files, as this can sometimes help resolve persistent issues.

If the problem continues, consider resetting Edge to its default settings, which can help eliminate any configuration issues that might be causing this behavior.
