Hello larry thoma, welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand your situation. Please try these workarounds first:

    • Open the email in a separate window (double-click to open it), then use the Print button from the ribbon
    • Turn off conversation view: Settings > Mail > Layout > disable "Show messages as conversations"

If those don't work, try resetting Outlook's print settings:

    • Close Outlook completely
    • Press Win+R, type %appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook and press Enter
    • Find the file named "OutlPrnt" and rename it to "OutlPrnt.old"
    • Restart Outlook and try printing again

Last resort - reset New Outlook:

    • Close Outlook
    • Press Win+R, type olk.exe --clearLocalState and press Enter
    • This will reset the app (you'll need to sign in again)

If you are unable to print from Outlook to your Canon printer, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

    1. Check Printer Selection: Ensure that your Canon printer is selected as the default printer in the print dialog. Sometimes, the system may default to a virtual printer like 'Microsoft Print to PDF'.
    2. Printer Properties: Go to the Control Panel, select Devices and Printers, right-click on your Canon printer, and choose 'Printer Properties'. Check if the port is set correctly (e.g., LPT1 for USB connections).
    3. Restart Applications: Close all open applications and restart Outlook to see if the issue persists.
    4. Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that your printer drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause printing issues.
    5. Check for Print Jobs: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the queue. Check the printer queue to see if there are any jobs that need to be cleared.
    6. Test Printing from Other Applications: Try printing from other applications like Word or Notepad to determine if the issue is specific to Outlook or affects all applications.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult the printer's manual or support resources for further assistance.
