Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. From your description, I understand how frustrating it is when you can’t access your Outlook email because the password no longer works.
Please try the following steps:
1. Reset your Microsoft account password
Your Outlook email password is the same as your Microsoft account password. Please use Microsoft’s official password reset page and follow the verification prompts: Reset a forgotten Microsoft account password - Microsoft Support
Or you can go directly to https://account.live.com/password/reset
2. After the reset, sign in on the web to confirm the account works
Go to Outlook on the web and confirm you can open the mailbox successfully. If you can sign in on the web but Classic Outlook still won’t connect, it’s usually a saved-credentials issue on the PC.
3. Remove old credentials in Classic Outlook for Windows
- Close Outlook
- Open Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager
- Under Windows Credentials, remove any old, saved credentials related to your Outlook/Microsoft account
- Reopen Outlook and sign in again
Please feel free to let me know how it goes after trying these steps. Thank you for your precious time and understanding.
