How to release my custom domain from an inactive Azure Tenant

I had an Azure account that went inactive and eventually automatically deleted because I had not sign into it in in over 5 months. I've created a new account and now cannot verify my custom domain. All the documentation I've read so far point to the reason of the domain not being able to be verified due to being added to my old deactivated account. How do I fix this?

    Hi Prince,

In this case you need to call up the support desk and provide the identity proof as the Data Identification team will cross check the details you provide with the account - global-customer-service-phone-numbers.

After this step is completed you will need to access the tenant, go to the custom domain and delete the domain in question and wait for the DNS propagation to add into the new tenant.

    Hope this helps.
