Third Party re-seller misinformation

I purchased a non-subscription Microsoft Office 2024 Home & Business (Mac) from https://digital-license-shop.com/about-us/?lang=en on 13th January 2026 thinking this was legitimate when I downloaded and installed the product. Their product page explicitly states that the license includes Microsoft Teams and OneNote and is a lifetime license. However, the software I received activated as Office LTSC Standard for Mac 2024, and did not include Teams or OneNote and is not a Microsoft 365 or Home & Business product. Astonishingly I was advised to go to the App store to get Teams and One Note and these Apps anyway are a poor imitation of the real thing. I decided to ask for a refund but got no reply at all and their chat ended abruptly after 10 minutes of disputing the product.

I decided then to purchase a full Microsoft package with a subscription and am very happy with this.

They say they are 'Microsoft authorised' but Chat GPT advised the following:-

🧠 Summary

Factor Assessment

Official Microsoft reseller ❌ Not confirmed

Website trust score (third-party) ⚠️ Low / suspicious in some evaluations

User reviews 📊 Mixed reliability — could be inflated

Grey market risk ⚠️ Typical of low-priced license key sellers

I believe this company is not acting properly and is misleading the public. They did not answer any of my emails asking for a refund, their chat function is off a lot of the time and they do not say where they are based. I hope Microsoft can investigate this unsavoury and misleading company that is leeching off the good name of Microsoft.

It appears that you have encountered issues with a third-party reseller of Microsoft Office products. Based on the information provided in the context, purchasing from unauthorized vendors can lead to receiving incorrect or illegitimate software. For example, Office LTSC is a volume license product intended for organizations, and purchasing it as a consumer can result in receiving a product that does not meet your expectations, such as missing features like Microsoft Teams and OneNote.

Additionally, if the seller is not a confirmed Microsoft authorized reseller, it raises concerns about the legitimacy of the product and the potential for scams. Microsoft has guidelines for identifying authorized resellers, and it is advisable to purchase software directly from Microsoft or verified partners to avoid such issues.

If you believe you have been misled, it is important to document your communications with the seller and consider reporting the incident to Microsoft for further investigation. They can provide guidance on how to proceed with your complaint and any potential refund processes.
