Open tab menu (Excel) has an annoying feature of keep <This PC> and Browse buttons at the bottom of the screen of the Open menu. Is there a way to move them higher on the screen?

    Hi OC43,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how inconvenient it can be when frequently used options like This PC and Browse appear at the bottom of the Open tab in Microsoft Excel and require scrolling each time.

At this time, the layout of the File > Open page is part of the built-in interface design in Microsoft 365. Unfortunately, there is no supported option to rearrange or move the This PC and Browse buttons to a higher position on the screen. These elements are not customizable through Excel Options, Ribbon customization, or any configuration settings.

As a possible workaround, you may consider:

    • Pinning frequently used folders so they appear near the top of the Open list
    • Using the Recent files section for quicker access
    • Using the shortcut Ctrl + F12, which opens the Browse dialog directly

If this layout significantly impacts your workflow, you can submit feedback to Microsoft using the Feedback Portal here: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/c23f3b77-f01b-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472

Product feedback is reviewed by the engineering team and helps guide future interface improvements. Please let me know if you need further clarification.
