My Win 11 PC suddenly stopped working with dual monitors today

My PC has worked with dual monitors fine for the last couple months, but today, I booted up my PC, and only one monitor will work at a time, both work fine, one is on display port, the other on HDMI, if I boot up with either monitor enables, it will work, but with both enabled? Only one will work. I made sure the drivers were up to date, downloaded windows updates, reset the GPU, uninstalled and reinstalled the GPU, literally everything I could think of. Does anyone know what the issue/solution may be?

    Hi,

If possible, switch the HDMI to DP ports on both monitors.

Did you try reinstalling the driver using DDU?

    Thanks

It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with dual monitor setups. Here are a few things you can check:

    1. Graphics Adapter Compatibility: Ensure that your graphics card supports multiple monitors. If both monitors are connected to different ports on the same graphics adapter, they should work together. However, if they are on separate adapters, there might be limitations.
    2. Transient Multi-monitor Manager (TMM): Windows uses a feature called TMM to manage multiple displays. If your monitors are connected to different graphics adapters, TMM may not activate the second monitor properly. You might need to check your display settings in Windows to ensure both monitors are recognized and configured correctly.
    3. Driver Issues: Even though you mentioned updating drivers, sometimes reverting to a previous version can help if a recent update caused compatibility issues. Check your GPU manufacturer's website for the latest drivers or any known issues with the current version.
    4. Cable and Port Issues: Make sure that the cables and ports are functioning correctly. Sometimes, using different cables or ports can resolve the issue. Try swapping the cables or using different ports on the GPU.
    5. Display Settings: Go to the display settings in Windows and ensure that both monitors are detected. You can try to extend the display rather than duplicating it, as this can sometimes resolve detection issues.

If none of these solutions work, consider testing the monitors on another PC to rule out hardware issues.
