We have the same issue as the person that posted the same title here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4374289/invitations-are-blocked-for-this-directory-due-to?source=docs.

We are using this Entra ID tenant for authentication during a client demo, so we are inviting external users. This is now blocked with the mentioned error, without a way to unblock it. This problem already delayed the start of the demo period, so we need this fixed asap.

Please advise on how we can fix this.

Impact:

  • We can no longer invite any new guests.
  • Our onboarding of legitimate users is fully blocked.
  • This is affecting critical business operations and timelines.

Request:

  • Please review and remove the "suspicious activity" block on our directory's invitation capability.
  • Please confirm any guidelines or best practices to avoid hitting this block in the future.

As can be seen in a answer below I was contacted by Microsoft Support the same day. There I provided some information using private messaging. This then took 7 days to resolve, which depending on your situation might be too much. During this time I asked for updates and got responses quite quickly. I hope this helps, should anyone else encounter the same problem. To start this all of I created this post. I don't know if thats the best way to do it, but it seems to work.
