All emails I send to myself using my hotmail.com email are sent directly to the Deleted Folder

When I send any email to myself (from the same email account) they appear briefly in the inbox and then get automatically sent to deleted folder.

This applies on webmail, using outlook on laptop and also on my phone. The only difference is that on my phone they are shown as Note to Self, but still get deleted.

I have checked there are no rules, no blocks, it applies even if the address is in as cc. I can receive all other emails, my emails are also sending fine. The issue is purely emails to myself.

I have tried putting in a rule to say that all emails from the address should go to inbox, but still doesn't work.

I can send the emails from Deleted folder to Inbox and they go and then immediately get sent back to Deleted folder.

    Hello,

You mentioned you use this on phone as well?

Check your phone's contact block, not the block in outlook settings, but block list on the phone's actual contact, see if you might have yourself blocked. If so, this can also happen.

It sounds like the issue you're experiencing with emails sent to yourself being moved to the Deleted Items folder is related to the Ignore feature in Microsoft Outlook. When you use the Ignore feature on an email, Outlook keeps track of future messages related to that ignored conversation and automatically moves them to the Deleted Items folder.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

    1. Check if the conversation is being ignored: Go to your Deleted Items folder, find the email that is being ignored, and check if the Ignore option is highlighted in the ribbon. If it is, you can stop ignoring the conversation by selecting Stop Ignoring Conversation.
    2. Remove any existing rules: Since you mentioned that you checked for rules, ensure that there are no conflicting rules that might be affecting how emails are handled.
    3. Check for conversation action messages: If you have previously ignored a conversation, Outlook may have created a conversation action message that is causing future messages to be deleted. You can manage these settings in the Conversation Action Settings folder in Outlook.
    4. Registry settings: If you're comfortable with it, you can check the registry settings related to conversation actions to see if there are any configurations that need adjustment.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be helpful to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
