Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

If you receive "there has been a temporary issue" for more than a year, it may indicate your account is temporarily suspended/blocked.

May I please know if you have any other alternate security contact methods available to verify your identity? If phone number is the only option, but having trouble verifying it, here's what you can try:

    1. Try the account reinstatement form - You can submit this form to the Microsoft account digital safety team to review the reasons why your account was disabled and help reinstate it if possible.

    https://www.microsoft.com/digitalsafety/account-reinstatement

    • Select "I am getting an error that my account has been temporarily blocked," and complete the form.
    1. Use the Account Recovery form - If you did not have 2FA active on the account, and the account was not deleted due to inactivity, you will need to try the Account Recovery Form.

Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours. If you are verified, instructions on how to log back into your account will be sent to you, and if you are not verified, you will need to submit the Account Recovery form again. You can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

If you're having trouble resetting your password and receiving a message about a temporary issue, it may be due to several factors. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Your Phone Number: Ensure that you are entering the full phone number correctly, including the country code, rather than just the last four digits. This can sometimes cause issues with receiving the verification code.
    2. Wait and Retry: If you've encountered a temporary issue, it might be worth waiting a little while before trying again. Sometimes, the system may need time to reset after multiple attempts.
    3. Use the Account Recovery Form: If you cannot reset your password through the phone number, consider using the official recovery form at Microsoft's account recovery page. Fill out as much information as you can to help verify your identity.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If none of the above steps work, you can reach out to Microsoft Support for assistance. They may be able to help you recover your account or provide additional options.

Remember, if you have two-step verification enabled, you will need access to at least one of your security methods to complete the recovery process.
